The Timaru North Swim Club operates a highly successful learn to swim programme during the winter months at Century Pool from 7.00pm to 8.00pm and the summer months at Maori Park Pool from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Our learn to swim coaches have or are being trained in the Swim New Zealand Swim Safe program. Our junior or non-competitive squad, trains on Saturday mornings at Century Pool from 7.00am to 8.00am. Our competitive / squad swimmers train at Century Pool each evening from 5.00pm to 6.30pm (Monday to Friday) and three mornings a week from 6.00am to 8.00am. During the summer months there is the opportunity to enrol for diving coaching which is run in-conjunction with our learn to swim sessions. Race nights or “have a go nights” are held on the first Monday of each month at Century Pool (August to December & February to April). The Club run two carnivals at Maori Park – our “Nifty Fifties” in early December & our “Ribbon Carnival” in early March. The Timaru North Swim Club welcomes all new swimmers.
